The Nike Kukini Free is available for both men and women. The shoe is specifically designed for triathletes, and it has a snug fit despite the lack of any laces. This allows for an easy slip on and off and the mesh upper allows for breathability. The grooves in the bottom of the sole are there to allow your foot a natural range of motion. They are supposed to mimic the feel of bare feet.

I just bought these at a local Finish Line in the dark gray/green/yellow colorway. At first, these shoes are extremely comfortable and snug. I wear a size 11 and usually running shoes look rather large on my feet, but the kukini’s fit them into looking like a size 10 or 9. I also have wide feet. After walking and standing around in these at the airport my feet were very sore. Maybe I just have to break them in, but I would not recommend these shoes to those who have wide feet. Overall, the cushioning and slip-on type of tongue work very well together making this a great addition to the Free Runs. However, I would not buy these if you have wide feet. ~chriszietz

Nike’s kukini is their greatest shoe to date. There’s nothing you can’t do in this shoe. Period. I hope they carry it over to nike id and allow customization of colors. I can’t wait. What about an olympic kukini for the united states???? ~christianzima

LOVED THIS SHOE WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IN SAN FRANCISCO IN 2006 AND AFTER THAT IN LONDON AND BERLIN. THOUGH MADE FOR TRIATHELETES, I WORE IT FOR INTENSIVE WALKING AND EVERTHING ELSE. ONLY DOWNSIDE WITH THE CURRENT KUKINI IS THAT NIKE HASN’T MADE THEM IN THE ORIGINAL COLORATION – BLACK/SKYKLIGHT AND WHITE #315843041 – THAT MADE IT UNIQUE AND I GOT COMPLIMENTS ALL OVER THE WORLD. HAVE ORDERED IT NOW IN EVERY COLOR. AM HOPING NIKE READS THIS AND BRINGS BACK THE ORIGINAL COLOR. IT IS A CULT SHOE AND DESERVES TO BE REPEATED. ~singita
